At work, the responsibility grows.. Now I got a bit more tasks and some of them I still have to check twice before confirmation.. It's not that easy to be flawless :P.

Four weeks ago, two Aiesec galls decided to make a trip to Malbork, the medieval castle. As I joined them we had really nice time together. The castle was really amazing. One picture sais more than 100 words, so just have a look in my October album ;).

Three weeks ago we had an Aiesec event. I totally forgot how they call it here... It was 'kind of a reception and welcome party for newcomers. The local interns were also invited. We cooked some dishes.. I also brought some presentation, because we've been told that there will be proper equipment for rolling some slides and so. True to say, the equipment was ok, just we had no chance to present our countries as the DJ was messing things up.. Yes, it was more like a disco and not a casual reception, however, we, the interns, had our own table and tasted each other’s dish, and had a nice chat while the polish people were dancing and enjoying themselves. We got bored with chasing them and asking if they would like to taste some, of course, some of them joined us and we discussed a lot about cultural differences and Portuguese boyfriends.. tststs.. >( .. here comes the mentality :P .. Lucky me, I had a video (the one you can also find on this blog), which was easier to play on the plasma tv above the big club chair in the bar - part of the facility. As time went on we joined in the Aiesec dances.. Cotton Eyed Joe . Yess baby!! Some of the Polish people couldn't understand how is it possible, that we, "the foreigners" know these dances. However as the tombola started I left, because the return to my flat gets complicated as night comes.. the local train is leaving once in an hour and waiting for too long on the platform in these windy days is not a clever idea.

Two weeks ago two Interns from Warsaw visited Gdansk. They come from Germany and Romania and both are Aiesecers. We had a nice time together.. I plan to upload some photos of our sightseeing and stuff later. The funniest thing was, when we decided to take some pictures in front of the city's council, as there were elections and the polish flags gave us an idea of doing some nice photos.. It was also funny to see those surprised if not shocked faces of the locals passing us as we were pottering around the three big polish flags on the grassy yard of the council :P It seems that polish people trust their candidates more than we do at home.. they went voting in a pretty big number as we recognized during the whole day.

One week ago I took some holiday and went back home for a prolonged weekend. If you want to torture someone, guys!!, 15 hours in a train is the best way to do it.. Of course it wasn't really that terrifying. The good side of travelling so long is that one can finally find time to read a book (of course, that wouldn't have occurred if I wouldn't have forgotten to charge my mp3-player :P..) Thanks to some outgoing and friendly communication with the conductor he decided to change his mind and in a train, which was already booked out for beds he found me one 1st class compartment. Not just that. I had a whole compartment for myself with 3 beds, a sink, wardrobe and a nice mirror.. The other compartments were overcrowded with American teenagers.. They were jerking around all night while I was comfortably lying on my bed, my clothes on the bed below and my bag on the bottom bed.. That was such a nice experience. :D :D :D The weekend was short, but still I managed to do so many things. Repair my home computer, have two nice and long evening discussions with my parents (even granny came to visit.. I was very happy), play with our new puppy Zeus, meet some fiends and enjoyed the still warm Slovak climate :D :D.
Zero weeks ago :D, I mean this week I started off some new activities.. I prefer to reveal them in later subscriptions.. as there are so many of them I will have to sort them out and keep only the ones which really saturate my needs.

"loading feeds"

these days are really busy. we are in the middle of so meny trainings and practices right now... A new trainer, from England arrived and is going to stay with us for at about 3 weeks. Today it was really hot, unusulal temperature for north of Poland. Hopefully the weather will stay for the whole week to balance the sad and cold weekend. Last week I moved to a really nice apartment. It is close to the office and still a bit aside from the city centre, on a hill called "Kamenna Gura" (dont expect correct polish spelling) which means rocky mountain .. just like the US mountain range. Friday is a cool day for parties, however, its also the best time for a little swimming, so I usually miss the best friday parties and exchange them for an exhausting wet trainig in the evening in a pretty similar pool like the one we have in Kosice, the "Krita". However, this is shorter, more shallow and costs 10 Zlt. for 45 min. -- that is 2,5 times more than Krita takes for 60 min. However, you wont beleave me, but this sucker is the cheapest in Gdynia. Now the weekends are usually short. We use to do some socializing activities.. the last weekend was nice, we wisited Gdansk Glowna, the old town. you can check the pix in the album Trojmiasto 8,9.2k7. Then on sunday there was a nice and Glamorous exhibition in Sopot. The Army of Tarakotta, the first chinese emperor. The exhibition consists of a short introduction movie and a dozen of 1on 1 clay sooldier statues from 200.Bc ... Now that Was something to see...

well. its time for some sleep now. tomorrow is going to be a busy day for me.. have to contact clients and still doing some trainings, so better get some sleep.

Well, another week passed. And I feel like I have nothing to write about :(.
So far there is a lot of training and studying going on. We are in the middle of forming a new team. Regarding the sight. Gdansk is actually a really nice place for sightseeing. However, it is not the only place to go to. The so called "tricity" consists of Gdansk, Gdynia and Sopot. Gdansk is the old town, Gdynia is the "business center" and Sopot is a place where all the young go to have some fun. This week I suddenly had an offer to check a nice flat and I liked it verry much, so I'll be moving from the dorms soon. .. ...

First days of my internship

today is a special day. We just finished working in the office and are going to celebrate Agneszka's Bday. She is a colleague of mine and we know each other from the office. Though she is reporting to someone else. My "boss" is a really nice lady, she cares about her teammembers a lot. Just for us, the newcomers she arranged a 3 day training (from mon. till wed.). We use meny tools and accesories in the office. I just got a desk. Its really nice, right next to the window. :P After work I usually commute with the local train, so called "kolejka". The dormitory, where I stay belongs to Gdanks University and is really just like our dorms at home XD. Foreigners use to complaun, but I guess, we Slavs don't care too much about things like room service :P My roommate, Pawol is a really nice guy. We talk a lot about several things. Unfortunatelly we always forget to talk about things I shoulf know and need. For instance where is the kitchen ect. XD After 3 days I found it however :P It is better not to tell where I'm from, as long as I dont want to get answers in plain polish. These guys here (even if they know the language) get creeps if they have to use english, so they just simly use polish and dunnot care what I understand. Thats why I altered my strategy and created a false answer for the question: where do you come from. So just for you guys to know, I come from Hungary. Because hungarian is not similar to polish, and this way people who want to speak with ME must practic their english. As no single soul knows hungarian over here :D :D :D (I am so unique 'baby)

I still need some time to get used to the environment here. The Gdansk AIESEC however helped a lot sofar. Each time something has to be done, they send a "prophet to speak the word" - the polish word, cuz I dunnot. To sum it all up, Aiesec provided with a really interesting internship in this Baltic city of the polish Gdans (actually Gdynia :P) and I can only encourage you, guys, to follow the pattern :)

Two weeks ago, 5. May 2007, I have graduated from my home University, the Business university in Bratislava, at Business management Faculty in Kosice. So from now on we are graduates with a degree in economy and enterprice management.
The graduation ceremony was held on fryday, 8. June 2007 in Kosice. In Slovak language is this ceremony called: "promocia" in transcript: promotion. It all begins with the meeting of the family members at the concert hall. On the centre of the stage are gathering all the scholars. They are welcomed by the dean and asked to take over their diploms one by one. Our faculty produces aproximately 170 graduates yearly.
Another custom is verry common in Slovakia, namely the spraying of graduate student names on the sidewalk in front of the University main entrance.

Clips

:)) Here are some Videos of activities I uploaded on the web.
